Despite having only five spaces out of eight filled on their point card Wellesley College scored 29 points at the October 12, 2024 Boston University/Tufts University show. This put the Blue only four points out of first at the 2024-25 Zone 1, Region 4 season opener, behind Stonehill (with 30), the University of Connecticut (with 32) and Boston University (with 33). Seen here from left to right holding a Wellesley horse cooler are freshman Ellen Schmidt (who won the long section of intermediate fences), coach Katie White and senior Ava Galbraith, who won both of her limit classes and claimed high point rider honors for the day.

There were two sections of novice equiatation at the November 23, 2024 University of Rhode Island show and there were seven riders entered in the first section. And of those seven riders the top three all showed for Johnson & Wales University. And each was a member of a different graduating class! From left to right are Sarah Walsh (a sophomore), Wildcats head coach Dirk Fogg, Danielle Smyrnios (a junior) and Alex Schicker (a freshman). Walsh won, Smyrnios was second and Schicker third. Meanwhile Johnson & Wales won or tied for high point team at three of the five Region 1 fall hunter seat shows. Though host URI won on the 23rd the Wildcats took a six point lead overall into the winter break.

Connecticut College hosted and won that March 2005 regular season finale over a UConn team that went on to reach IHSA Nationals...

Region 2: Back on April 4, 2004 six Region 2 schools could claim at least one of their riders had made the top two at Regionals and thus advanced to Zone 1 Zones at the Stoneleigh-Burnham School the following month (which was the last time Zone 1 Zones were not at Mount Holyoke College, at least until this April when they are to take place at Mystic Valley Hunt Club)...

Region 3: Thirteen schools (16 teams, with three schools having a pair of teams present) competed at the January 20, 2018 Winter Tournament of Champions invitational in Coolville, Ohio. This was the first of two T of C invitationals in the space of a week, and at this particular event a Zone 1, Region 3 school took high point team honors...but which one?

Region 4: Between 2002 and 2011 Stonehill College won eight Region 4 Region Titles in nine seasons. But the one that stands out the most is in the spring of 2003. That is when the Sky Hawks (then still known as the Chieftains) advanced a full team through Zones to compete at IHSA Nationals in Murfressboro, Tennessee where they won their one and only National Championship to date...
