Is coaching the Clark University Equestrian Team a prerequisite for coaching the Assumption College Equestrian Team? Greg LaPlace (not pictured) coached Clark for a few seasons and then coached Assumption College for three semesters through fall of 2010. Former Cazenovia College rider Frank Bassett (second on right) coached Clark in 2009-10 and became the Assumption coach in Spring of 2011! From left to right are Molly Pietrantonio, Danielle Lamoureux, Laura Pandiani, Bassett and Maryellen Casey of the Assumption team. Pandiani is the first rider in Assumption history to go to Regionals, and when this photo was taken on March 26th Pandiani had just added a blue ribbon in intermediate flat to her red in intermediate fences earlier that day, which in both cases made Pandiani the first Assumption rider ever to qualify for Zones!

From left to right are Rachel Schmidt, Head Coach Dirk Fogg and Rebecca Hein of Johnson & Wales University. Hein had just placed second while Schmidt was a blue ribbon winner at the October 23rd, 2010 Becker College show. Both Schmidt and Hein were freshman intermediate riders at the time but it would not surprise many if Coach Fogg saw both riders point up and ride at the open level sometime during the 2011-12 season.
