She was the star of the Region 2 Regionals Cacchione Cup Class. Dartmouth senior Sara Glazer even finished ahead of 2003 IHSA Nationals Cacchione Cup winner and University of Vermont junior John Pigott.

ZONE 1, REGION 2 REGIONALS RESULTS

Etna, NH - Region 2 high point team University of Vermont advanced four riders to Zone 1 Zones in six divisions. Dartmouth College was nearly as successful, advancing four riders in five divisions. University of Vermont junior John Pigott won both of the open classes while teammate Samantha Talbot won each of the novice sections. Dartmouth freshman Tim Malone was second to Pigott in each open section and will also ride twice at Zones.

The show included a Cacchoine Cup Class, with the top seven open riders for the 2003-04 season competing in two phases. The winner was Dartmouth senior Sara Glazer, who bested Pigott by one placing. The class was the only one of the day that did not count towards Zones or Nationals, as Pigott will represent Region 2 at Nationals once again in the Cacchione Cup Competition by virtue of earning more points than any other open rider in the region for the third year in a row.

Heather Toland of the University of New Hampshire was second to the University of Vermont's Sarah James in the walk-trot class which ended the day. Since the top two advance, Toland became the first University of New Hampshire rider to reach Zone 1 Zones (to be held on April 10th at the Stoneleigh-Burnham School) in at least eight seasons.
