Making their third appearance at IHSA Nationals with a full western team, the University of Nebraska at Lincoln finished fifth overall with 13 points. Head Coach Libby Lugar (second on right) can boast that her Cornhuskers have improved with each Nationals appearance, having scored seven points in 2005, 10 points last season and 13 this season.

The Purdue Equestrian team had a full hunter seat team at IHSA Nationals for the first time in three seasons. Since the Boilermakers were nearly a thousand miles from campus, it was doubtful that the real 'Purdue Pete' could make an appearance. However the Boilermakers brought the next best thing. Head Coach Jerry Steinmetz holds a Purdue Pete bobblehead figurine that made everyone feel right at home at the Big E in West Springfield, Massachusetts.

Region 3: The University of Nebraska at Lincoln picked up the most frequent-flyer miles of any Zone 9 school during the post-season. The Cornhuskers had to fly to California to compete at Western Semifinals, then had to go even further the opposite direction for IHSA Nationals. The California trip went very well, with only then-defending National Champion Ohio State able to finish ahead of them...
