Stanford University qualified three western riders to 2016 IHSA Nationals. They are (from left to right) Aliyyah Noel, Carson Kautz and Laura Stickells. Kautz was the Region 1 individual AQHA High Point Western Rider while Noel competed in individual beginner western horsemanship and Stickells in individual novice western horsemanship. Noel faired the best, placing ninth in her beginner class on May 8th.

If you think Natalie Nahirney of the University of British Columbia (second on right) had a long journey to travel to IHSA Nationals in Lexington, Kentucky last May it was a piece of cake compared to several of her relatives who traveled from the United Kingdom to see her compete in the Cacchione Cup Competition. So far in 2016-17 five Canadian schools have officially signed up to compete in IHSA shows. They are the University of Ottawa (in Zone 2, Region 2), University of Guelph (same), University of Western Ontario (in Zone 6, Region 4), University of Victoria (in Zone 8, Region 4) and University of British Columbia (same).
