IHSA ZONE 5 - REGION 4

For the second season in a row Zone 5, Region 4 advanced two riders through to IHSA Nationals. The first of the two to compete at 2025 Nationals was Alexandra Ronningen of Louisiana State University (on left). Seen here with Tigers head coach Leaf Boswell, the then-freshman from Cincinnati, Ohio was second in individual limit over fences at Zone 5 Zones on April 5th to qualify for the Nationals event. At Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, North Carolina on May 2nd, Ronningen was one of four (out of 16) riders called back to test. When it was over Ronningen received the fourth place ribbon.

Prior to the fall of 2006 Texas A & M University fielded an IHSA team for almost 20 seasons (the Aggies even hosted 1994 IHSA Nationals). TAMU was one of several schools to offically go NCEA-only in 2006. However a separate IHSA club team has appeared in this decade and for the first time in 19 seasons one of the Aggies' riders made it through to IHSA Nationals. At Zones on April 5th Cameron Sanchez of TAMU (pictured) won the individual intermediate on the flat. This meant the then-sophomore from Prosper, Texas continued on to show in the same division at Nationals on May 2nd.
