IHSA ZONE 3 - REGION 4

From Los Angeles, California, Lafayette College freshman Kelsey Work (pictured) won team novice equitation on the flat on April 23rd at 2009 IHSA Nationals in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Work's first was also the first time in the eight-season history of Zone 3, Region 4 that any undergraduate hunter seat rider earned a blue ribbon at an IHSA Nationals show.

Seen here with Head Coach Bobby Dean, Renae Burks of West Virginia University is 'Derby-Bound.' The junior from Hillsboro, West Virginia placed third in the NRHA-sponsored individual open reining division at 2009 IHSA Nationals, automatically qualifying for the NRHA derby in Oklahoma City this June by virtue of finishing inside the top four. Burks also placed sixth in team open reining, earning the Mountaineer's lone point in the western team competition.
