It seems just about every IHSA rider who has ever called Flemington, New Jersey their hometown can say they rode at Briarwood Farm in nearby Readington. Bloomsburg freshman Tara Kennedy (pictured) is no exception. In her IHSA debut on September 26th Briarwood student Kennedy won both of her novice classes and claimed high point rider honors. She has since qualified for Regionals in novice flat.

The high point rider at the seventh Region 4 show of the season was another freshman. Alexandra Bishop of Lafayette College (on left, with her Mother) was one of five riders with a first and a second at the November 8th University of Scranton show. Though there were several riders in the ride-off above the novice level, the novice rider from West Grove, Pennsylvania was victorious. This was Bishop's third IHSA show and first actual ride-off as a bonus.
As recently as the start of the seventh fall show East Stroudsburg University was in second place in the Region 4 Hunter Seat Team Standings. One ESU rider going to Regionals is junior Cayle Gilligan (pictured). From Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Gilligan has pointed out of the novice flat division. Cayle (pronounced "K-Lee") has a sister, Molly, who competes for Susquehanna University in Zone 3, Region 1. Molly has qualified in both hunter seat novice divisions, creating the possibility that the Gilligan sisters could ride against each other at Zones this April.
It is hard for some to believe but Region 4 managed to hold eight hunter seat shows between September 26th and November 14th. During that time Moravian College co-hosted one of the eight with Rutgers. Only one Moravian rider qualified for Regionals and that rider is senior Stephanie Dengler (pictured). Dengler is qualified in both hunter seat novice divisions.
Can you guess which team Rutgers senior Meagan Bethavas's Father roots for? Though it looks like he is a Baltimore Orioles fan he is really a Bronx-born Mets fan! Hopefully he roots for the Rutgers Equestrian Team since his daughter (on left, holding "Baxter" at the 2014-15 season opener) is going to Regionals in intermediate fences. Meagan transferred from S.U.N.Y. - Albany to Rutgers prior to last season so Mr. Bethavas may have rooted for the Great Danes at one time before rooting for the Scarlet Knights.
