Sometimes a rider will own a certain division once she or he gets there! This seems to be the case for Autumn Cary of Black Hawk College (on left, with head coach Bekah Irish). From Syracuse, Nebraska, Cary is seen here at 2022 IHSA Nationals shortly before she placed third in team ranch riding. At the September 24th Iowa State show Cary was second in this same division to point up into Open Reining. In spite of being at the higher level, Cary has thrived, winning all seven of her open reining classes from September 25th through November 20th. This has helped defending National Champion Black Hawk open up a 94 point lead and an almost-certain return to Semifinals with a full Western team.
