WESTERN SEMIFINALS RESULTS MARCH 24TH AND 25TH IN FINDLAY, OH
The University of Findlay remained undefeated since the Semifinals format
was introduced in 2006, winning four of the six team classes and leading the
competition from the second team class forward. West Texas A & M University
briefly led through one team class and consistantly held second place for the
remainder of the show. While Findlay and West Texas A & M were separated by
a 37-30 score, defending National Champion Berry College scored 18 points
which was enough for third place. Cecilia Shields-Auble won team novice late
in the contest to vault the Vikings ahead of Morehead State University (which
led Berry by a point going into the final class). Save for first time
Semifinal qualifier Arizona State University five different teams were still
mathematically alive for third place going into the final team class. The
host Oilers also advanced seven individual riders to IHSA Nationals.
