Though they trailed by seven points entering the final Region 4 show of the season, host Liberty University gradually chipped away at Sweet Briar's lead and in the final class of the day Anna Talmadge (on right, a freshman from Lynchburg, Virginia) won the lone section of introductory equitation. This pulled the Flames even with the Vixens for the year at 286 points each. When there is a tie the first tiebreaker is based on the five highest scores for each of the two school's this season. This tiebreaker won a 2022 Region Title for Sweet Briar over Randolph-Macon, but in 2026 this produced yet another tie. The next tiebreaker is each team's top score. At one of Sweet Briar's home shows the Vixens scored 43 points which turned out to be their best score. But at the Randolph-Macon show Liberty posted a score of 47! This meant the Flames became Region 4 Region Champions for the third time and second under head coach Suzanne Flaig (on left). Sweet Briar College head coach Lizzie Fisch showed great sportsmanship by not only walking right to Flaig to congratulate her but also to explain that Liberty had won the tiebreaker. This was at a time when the Flames were not yet sure which team would be going to Zone 4 Zones which Goucher College will host on their Towson, Maryland campus on April 4th.
