He was known as one of the better riders within all of New England during his four years at Boston University. Various non-IHSA riding events kept him from a few shows each year which may have prevented him from riding for the Cacchione Cup. But in his final day of IHSA riding Michael Janson of Boston University (on right, with head coach Phyllis Cervelli) stole the spotlight early on May 5th with a win in team open over fences at IHSA Nationals in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. A few hours later he traded places in the rankings with Adam Edgar of Savannah College of Art and Design. Edgar, who was second in the team over fences, won while Janson finished out his four years with a second in team open flat. The Terriers 18 points put them in fourth overall in only their second trip to Nationals with a full hunter seat team and their first appearance since 1992.
